Windy Stripes :)

Yesterday night, I found myself at G-Fest, where the White Stripes were headlining the last day of the festival closest to the beach.

Having only headrd the singles, and not having payed attention to them really, I’d thought of the Stripes as just another pop-rock band like the millions around these days … boy, was I sadly mistaken or what ?

The guy is the re-incarnation of Robert Plant, been cloned into a body with Jimmy Page’s fingertips :D … there were times when I COULD be watching a Led Zeppelin concert. Plainly fascinating. I’m very pleased to discover that there’s still a few worthwhile guitar bands out there !

In any case though, the organizers closed the festival with the biggest blunder ever. The wind - mild wind at that - was apparently too strong for the stage roof, and after only a few minutes past half an hour the concert was interrupted. After 5-6 mins it continued, only to be stopped and canceled a few minutes afterwards for safety reasons.

I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed those few minuted we did see, but I’m ENRAGED at the lack of proffessionalism displayed by the organizers.

Oh well, all in all it was a little adventure evening, with a very good rockin’ soundtrack ;]

I believe it was the band’s fault that the fest ended…I heard them say that someone from the group had been hurt in the past from a collapsing stage roof and thus they just chickened out and went on to sniff the rest of their coke backstage!!
